Odores Coquinae

2010

Odores Coquina is a collection of fragrant objects inspired by my mother’s perfume bottle collection. Each piece transforms everyday ingredients and essences into sculptural forms, with the collection gently referring to the idea of a cabinet of curiosities.

The forms draw on the shapes of the spices they embody, often resembling flowers, fruits or seeds, translating these familiar botanical references into textile sculptural forms. Each object carries its own natural scent and colour: curcuma yellow, nutmeg light brown, cinnamon deep brown, creating a palette drawn directly from daily life.
